The infinity stones of lifelong learning

The most awaited movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Endgame, has been up and running for weeks now and we see no sign of it slowing down. At this point, many of you have already seen what went down. Don’t worry, there are no spoilers here whatsoever, but this is a great opportunity to bring about the infinity stones that was sought out so desperately by the Avengers and Thanos.

The infinity stones, when combined like the gauntlet Thanos possessed, holds one of the most powerful weapons in the Marvel universe. With all the stones combined, it has the power to control space, minds, reality, energy, time, and even life and death itself.

Anyone in our world would definitely love to possess this power but in our reality, we have something somewhat similar – lifelong learning. Yes, it may seem somewhat cheesy, but lifelong learning is the infinity gauntlet in our reality and the best part is, there are unlimited stones and we all won’t have to fight for it.

Here are some infinity stones of lifelong learning that could provide you with great power:

  • Mindset
Without a proper mindset, lifelong learning isn’t so lifelong. Mindset is what drives behavior and if you want to achieve success, you need the mindset to accept failure as well. It’s the driving force of lifelong learning.

  • Learning culture
As mindset drives lifelong learning, culture sustains it. Culture is about instilling elements into who you are and in your daily lives. Lifelong learning is nothing without the learning culture at an individual, organizational and even societal level.

  • Blended learning
If learning needs to be lifelong, we should be able to mix it up, otherwise, we’re all sure to get bored. Blended learning is a great way to personalize your learning to match your learning needs.

  • Adaptability
With change constantly happening around us, we must be able to adapt. Just as with learning, relevant content and knowledge change constantly. What may be relevant today may no longer be useful tomorrow. We must adapt and update our knowledge.

  • Agility
Speed is the game in our world today. As much as we need to adapt, we also need to make sure we adapt to those changes with appropriate speed. Of course, you can’t rush everything, but there are some things in learning that you’d need to be able to get around quickly.

  • Curiosity
A powerful tool, curiosity is an important part of lifelong learning. Asking questions, pressing for answers, pushing yourself to understand the world better is what learning is all about. You can’t begin to unlock your learning potential without a hint of curiosity.

Your infinity stones for lifelong learning may be different to the listed above, you may have more or you may even have less, but what’s important is that you understand that you have so much power to make the changes you want in your life – that’s if, you choose to do so.

No matter where we’re from or what our background is, learning will always be a part of our lives. And it doesn’t have to be formal learning in classroom settings. It can even be as simple as going and observing the world around you.
