The SLII Experience™

Overview

The SLII Experience™ is a proven, time-tested leadership model, used to train over 5 million managers across the world: it has been the world’s most taught leadership training model for more than 35 years. The leadership training model is an easy-to-understand practical framework that helps managers diagnose the needs of their people, and select the appropriate leadership style to meet those needs. Managers will learn the four stages of development – from enthusiastic beginner to self-reliant achiever – and how to apply appropriate directives and supportive behaviors, from directing to delegating, to match their people’s development needs.

As employees develop their skills, confidence, and experience within an organization, they naturally go through several stages of working traits. These are classified from beginners to experienced workers as Low competence/High commitment, Some competence/Low commitment, High competence/Variable commitment, and High competence/High Commitment.

To effectively manage each stage of this development, executives and managers should adopt a different management style for each stage. The management styles are called Telling, Selling, Participating, and Delegating.

In the leadership executive training program, executives will learn how to correctly judge what stage each of their employees is depending on their work habits, skill sets, and experience.

They will also learn the different types of management styles that work best for the different stages of employee development.
